CHE*494*10 Description

SpTp:Adv. Synthesis & Spectro

This course is designed to provide students the opportunity to learn techniques that are required for the synthesis and characterization of organic, inorganic, and organometallic compounds, as well as, teach them how to think critically about the chemical reactions needed to complete a chemical synthesis in a laboratory setting. At the completion of this course students will be proficient in various laboratory techniques, will be able to complete a multi-step chemical synthesis, will know how to use and interpret data from a GC-MS, FT-IR, NMR, and UV-Vis, will know how to efficiently search the chemical literature, and will be able to write in a technical manner. You must have taken/be taking CHE*201 and CHE*202
