Provides a comprehensive overview of historic and cultural resource management as practiced in the United States. Examines the history of the preservation movement, the role of preservation in American culture, and the legislative framework for historic preservation. Reviews the growing field of cultural resource management, looking at issues in architectural design, contract or "salvage" archaeology, and heritage tourism. Prerequisite(s): One 200 level ANT or HIS course
