An exemination of the major theories of counseling: psychoanalytic, rational-emotive, client-centered and behavioral, an examination of the major ethical and legal issues, and an opportunity to acquire practical counseling process skills such as listening, problem-solving, vocational counseling and goal setting. Prerequisite(s): PSY 111 and PSY 112, or two Sociology courses
